SUSK Giving Tuesday 2021
The giving season is soon approaching and we are inviting you to be a part of SUSK’s 2021 Giving Tuesday Campaign! What we are asking is for you to record a short video of yourself to participate in!
This year, Giving Tuesday lands on Tuesday, November 30th, 2021, and our goal is to raise $5,000 for the SUSK Endowment fund.
What is Giving Tuesday?
Giving Tuesday is the opening day of the giving season. It takes place each year the day after last Friday of November. The purpose of giving Tuesday is to encourage generosity unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities.
Why donate?
This year we’ve asked our member Ukrainian Student Organizations (USOs), our donors, our alumni, and our Board of Directors to share with you how important SUSK is to them! By donating to the Endowment fund is how SUSK is able to provide continuing support and strength to member USOs, motivation and connection for post-secondary students to be involved in their community. It also helps organize national campaigns pertaining to Ukrainian issues, identify students to start new clubs, and empower the next generation of leaders within the community.
In 2016, the position of National Coordinator was introduced to mitigate the effects of student turnover and ensure the National Executive is able to effectively achieve its mandate. The interest accrued on our Endowment Fund will help cover the salary of our National Coordinator. It is an integral part of continuing our vision of a sustained body to unite, develop, and empower Ukrainian Youth.

A message from SUSK Vice-President, Larisa Hemon

SUSK realizes that we are an organization that is successful and effective because we are made up of students who strive for a strong and active Ukrainian Canadian community. Through the different projects, initiatives, and subcommittee actions taken on the board, we are constantly working to make sure that leadership and community-building opportunities are readily available to our student members. It is important to support the organizations that will help build a better future for tomorrow – and that is exactly what SUSK is about.
